How to Stay in Touch with Your Taproom Guests

86% of brewery staff are not encouraging guests to sign up for your mailing list or loyalty/rewards program.

This is a huge missed opportunity to not only turn that guest into a regular, but to stay in touch. In many cases, your POS can even do the work for you.

How can asking this question and using the data help you see more success?

  • Are your customers thinking about you when they're not in your taproom? This information allows you to better stay in touch.

  • Stay top of mind through semi-frequent emails. These emails serve as simple reminders that you're ready to serve them.

  • Don't just send out "BUY OUR BEER" emails. Keep them informative, entertaining, and give the drinker a reason to visit.

  • Showcase your staff. One of my favorite examples is when a brewery uses an email to spotlight a specific employee and gets a personal. "This is Keisha, her dog's name is Hops, and when she's not pouring beer, she loves....." We are all craving interaction. Get a little humanizing and use these emails to build relationships.

  • Generate future traffic. The odds are if someone provided their email address to you, they're interested in visiting you again. Sending them a well-crafted email on a Thursday afternoon simply reminds them that you're an option and you'd like to have them back.

Simple reminders go a long way.

Take a look at your most recent email campaigns. What's the call to action?

Are you successfully using them as an extension of your taproom experience?
